Terminology Update

Evolutionary OKRs → No-BS OKRs

Same methodology. Better name. Here's what changed and why.

What's the Story?

If you've been following my work on OKRs for a while, you might remember when I called my approach "Evolutionary OKRs." The name reflected my belief that OKRs should evolve with your organization—they're not a rigid framework you force-fit, but a flexible practice that adapts to your team's needs.

Over time, I realized the name wasn't landing the way I hoped. "Evolutionary" sounded academic. It didn't capture the practical, get-shit-done energy of how I actually work with teams.

Enter: No-BS OKRs

No-BS OKRs better captures what my approach is really about:

  • No bureaucracy. OKRs that don't create busywork.
  • No theory for theory's sake. Practical tools that work in the real world.
  • No perfection required. Start where you are, improve as you go.
  • No pretending. Honest conversations about what's working and what's not.

The methodology hasn't changed—just the name. If you learned Evolutionary OKRs from me, you already know No-BS OKRs. Same principles, same practices, same Sara.

What This Means for You

If you're here because you saw a reference to "Evolutionary OKRs" somewhere:

  • Old resources still apply. The content is still relevant—just mentally swap "Evolutionary" for "No-BS."
  • New resources use "No-BS OKRs." All my current content, services, and tools use the updated terminology.
  • Nothing broke. If you implemented Evolutionary OKRs with me, keep doing what's working. The label changed, not the substance.
